My interest in garden design began in 1994 whilst working as a volunteer on an organic farm. After originally training in Fine Art (sculpture & print making) I discovered that the amazing therapeutic benefits of horticulture could be combined with my drawing skills to create unique places of beauty. I have gained qualifications in practical horticulture from the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens and an HNC in the Design & Management of Gardens from Pershore College, Worcestershire. As well as RHS General & Advanced Certificates.
Procedure for plans:
Layout plan - A typical garden layout plan would start at £450 and the fees would increase on a scale relevant to the size of garden and complexity of plan. There are three stages:- Initial Consultation - will last approximately one hour. A fee is charged from £25.00 (including travel to and from the office). I will look at the garden, talk through your ideas and show you portfolios and photos of completed gardens.
- site survey & inventory - soil analysis & photographic record.
- Sketch plan - where I will show you the ideas for your garden in the form of a plan which is drawn to scale. This gives you the opportunity to adjust any items that may be necessary.
- Final plan - fully detailed, to scale, hand drawn & coloured up.
Accompanied by a black & white copy. Please Note:- A layout plan includes names of specimen trees and shrubs but does not include full planting details & schedule, (this is a separate service). You would receive a plan quotation for the layout plan, outlining the fees, accompanied by an acceptance form which must be returned in order for any work to begin. There are two stage payments. We ask that you settle each stage payment upon completion.
